‘Body, mind, spirit, humor, laughter, positive attitude’

David Rule of Mission, Kansas, became a cancer volunteer after surviving brain cancer.

“Being diagnosed at 18 years old, I was never a ‘why me?’ person and resolved to attack my cancer in the most positive of ways. Also, being on pediatrics, I  gained a very strong sense of not having to look very far to find someone worse off than myself, which kept me from ever feeling sorry for myself. In always keeping my eyes wide open to what others were going through and needed, I became a long-time cancer volunteer.
David’s six words to describe his cancer experience are “Body, Mind, Spirit, humor, laughter, positive attitude.” Share your six words here.

David words, which were shared digitally through Tell KC, have been lightly edited for clarity.
